A quick way to give a new look to the bathroom is through fixture replacement. The Bath Mixer are an easy item to install. You may need a special pipe wrench or screw remover if the taps have been on for decades. Also, bath taps occasionally strip at the threads and won’t turn off adequately. This issue can be fixed if necessary. Bath taps come in single or mixer type. Make certain to measure the pipe so you get the correct size tap.
1 Assemble the new bath mixer taps. Do not attach the back nuts.
2 Seat the taps into the bath. Poke the tap connector ends through the tap holes in the tub. Ensure the rubber washers are in place at the base of the taps, sitting on top of the holes.
3 Reach under the bath and screw on the back nuts to the tap with Faucet Handle connectors poking through the holes. Tighten by hand then use the adjustable basin wrench to tighten fully.
4 Connect the water supply pipes. Hand tighten first, then use the adjustable wrench to tighten fully. Ensure the hot and cold water connections are attached to the corresponding taps. Hot is usually red and cold is blue.
5 Open the taps then turn on the water supply. Leave the taps running to flush away any debris.
6 Check for leaks at the top and underneath the bath.

Mixer taps allow you to run your bath at the required temperature without having to add extra hot or cold water once you are settled in the tub. You can purchase replacement Shower Head taps at DIY stores or plumbing specialist traders. Ensure the measurements between the tap holes in the tub are the same width as the distance between the connections on the new mixer taps. Turn off the water supply before removing the old taps.
1 Turn off the water to the shower. If there are shut-off valves installed in the pipes leading to the shower, turn them off. If there are no valves, turn off the main water valve located in the basement or outside your house. Open the shower to relieve water pressure.
2 Pry the cap off of the front of the handle. If it is a round or octagonal plastic one, unscrew the screw holding the handle and take the handle off. If the handle is a metal lever, look for an Allen screw under the lever. Unscrew it with an Allen wrench and take off the lever.
3 Unscrew or pull off the plastic limiter if the valve has a feature that allows you to pre-set the maximum water temperature.
4 Unscrew and remove the nut holding the cartridge with a pair of Channellock pliers. Some cartridges are held in place by a clip. If so, pull it straight out with needle-nose pliers. Reattach the handle and use it to pull the cartridge out of the valve seat. Be sure to note the orientation of the cartridge before you remove it.
5 Inspect the rubber O-rings around the cartridge and the gaskets lining the inlet holes in the valve seat for signs of wear if the Shower Head Holder has been leaking. Replace any that are worn. Pry the gaskets from the valve seat with a slot screwdriver if they need to be replaced.
6 Look for cracks on the cartridge itself and replace it if you find any. If the holes are obstructed, clean them with the jet from a garden hose. Use a wire brush to remove any mineral deposits you find. If the deposits are extensive, or there is a significant amount of corrosion, replace the cartridge.
7 If it was regulating temperature correctly, replace the same cartridge, or a new one, in the same orientation the original cartridge was in when you took it out. If it wasn’t, turn the cartridge 180 degrees before you reinstall it. It could have been installed incorrectly in the first place, or the hot and cold supply lines may be reversed.
8 Screw on the retaining nut, or put the clip back in to hold the cartridge. You shouldn’t have to force the clip. If the cartridge is seated correctly, it should just slide right in.
9 Replace the plastic limiter, if there is one, then put the handle back on and tighten the screw to hold it. If there is a cap, snap it back in place.
Single Lever Basin Mixer allow you to run your bath at the required temperature without having to add extra hot or cold water once you are settled in the tub. You can purchase replacement mixer taps at DIY stores or plumbing specialist traders. Ensure the measurements between the tap holes in the tub are the same width as the distance between the connections on the new mixer taps. Turn off the water supply before removing the old taps.
1 Position a fluorescent lead-lamp on the floor of the cabinet to provide you with enough light to work. Turn off the faucet water supply at the shut-off valves and release any remaining pressure in the lines by opening the faucet.
2 Place a bucket under the shut-off valves and undo the faucet supply hose compression fittings with two opposing adjustable wrenches.
3 Push a pair of channel pliers up behind the sink, position the jaws over the wide plastic nuts holding the faucet in place. Twist the pliers counterclockwise to loosen the nuts. Reach up and spin the nuts off the faucet by hand.
4 Pull the old faucet and supply hoses out of the sink. In some cases, an existing Bibcock with a single pull-down handle is fitted with separate attaching bolts. If this is the case, you need to first remove the faucet handle by undoing the attaching screw and lifting off the faucet body tube, and then prying off the decorative base plate to access the bolts. In addition, you need a helper to hold the nuts from underneath with a wrench while you remove the bolts from the top.
5 Pry the separate decorative base plate off with a putty knife if applicable. Scrape off any remaining caulking compound from the surface with the putty knife, and wipe the area clean with a rag.
6 Place the rubber gasket supplied with the new faucet over the underside of the decorative faucet base plate. Roll out a length of plumber’s putty and press it into the groove around the rim of the rubber gasket. Position the base plate and gasket over the three holes in the sink and press the plate firmly down.
7 Attach two new flexible water supply hoses onto the inlets on the base of the new faucet. Tighten both compression fittings securely with the adjustable wrench, but don’t damage the rubber washers by over-tightening.
8 Guide the faucet base and hoses through the hole in the base plate and into in the sink. Screw the wide plastic nuts supplied onto the two outer faceplate retaining bolts protruding through the bottom of the sink. Thread the large faucet securing nut and washer over the supply hoses and onto the faucet base, and tighten all three nuts securely with the channel pliers.
9 Connect the water supply hose compression fittings onto their respective shut-off valves. Tighten both compression fittings firmly with two opposing adjustable wrenches, but do not over-tighten.
10 Scrape off the excess putty squeezed out from under the decorative base plate with the putty knife, and wipe the surface clean with a rag. Turn on both water supply shut-off valves. Open the faucet mixer tap halfway and allow both hot and cold water to run into the sink.
11 Check underneath the sink to ensure that there are no leaky compression fittings. If you detect any leaks, tighten the compression fittings another quarter turn to stop the leaks and to complete the installation.
A bath taken in the morning keeps you fresh the whole day. Having a spacious bathroom in the house is not the only thing that will make your bathing experience great. A number of accessories are required, the Bath Mixer taps being the foremost. What are bath mixer taps? In layman’s language it is a tap unit which provides a mix of hot and cold water which makes your bathing experience great in all the seasons, throughout the year.
Though you might not realize it, basin faucets with Angle Valve come in many different shapes and sizes, and you do not always have to choose the mainstream, typical ones when choosing one for your basin or sink. They can really make a statement when you are designing (or redesigning) a bathroom and/or kitchen.
They are most commonly made out of metal, though there are some that are made completely out of plastic. Plastic basin faucets are some of the least expensive varieties. Basin faucets either come with one or two spouts. If the basin faucets have two spouts, one of them will be for cold water, and the other will be for hot water. If there is only one spout then the faucet will have one or two handles to adjust the water temperature. If you have a large basin in your laundry room, for example, having two basin faucets can be the most convenient because many people use these basins to hand wash clothing, which often needs either hot or cold water. Two spouts can also be used for bathroom sinks, but if the basin is small, the single spout versions can be more convenient for hand washing.when your Basin Faucet is out,you need to removw it and change a new one.
1 Open the vanity doors underneath the basin to access the faucet connections and shutoff valves.
2 Turn both shutoff valves clockwise or to the right to shut off the hot and cold water. You will find the shutoff valves located on the back wall. Do not remove any connections until you have shut off your water.
3 Turn the water handles on the faucet to release pressure in the water lines, and to make sure that you have actually turned the water off. Releasing the pressure in the water lines will keep you from getting wet when you remove the connections to the faucet.
4 Place an old towel underneath the shutoff valves. Use a pair of pliers to loosen the nuts that connect the waterlines to the shutoff valves. The towel will absorb remaining water in the lines.
5 Place a rug on the bottom outer edge of the vanity or cabinet. The rug will provide a cushion for your back.
6 Set a flashlight in the back corner of the vanity, and aim it up toward the underneath side of the basin. A flashlight will help you see the lock nuts holding the faucet in place.
7 Use a basin wrench to loosen the lock nuts that hold each water line to the inlet valves. Turn the lock nuts counterclockwise or to the left to remove the lock nuts. When the lock nuts are loose enough, you can finish removing them by hand. Slide the washers off of the inlet valves after you loosen and remove the lock nuts.
8 Lift the faucet off of the basin, and install a new one by following each step in reverse order.
Shower Head are elegant fixtures in the bathroom that increase water pressure, which in turn increases the speed. Shower heads have emerged as a necessity among today’s urban population and different types of shower heads are being launched to suit individual needs. Shower heads allow users to adjust from delicate to fast sprays. Shower heads are designed to mix and match almost an infinite combination of variations. They bring luxury and convenience to any bathroom. Modern shower heads push the water through an accelerator fin that powers up and increases the water velocity. The result is a highly boosted flow of water.
Clean your shower regularly. Mark a cleaning schedule in your calendar if you cannot do it every other day, do it once a week at least. This would be to make sure that mildew will not form. Besides it would be easier to clean a week’s mess than a month’s worth of grime.
Have all the cleaning tools needed handy. You should have gloves, detergent, bleach, any bathroom or tile cleaning spray. Keep these items in your bathroom area hidden under the sink or in a storage area. If it is within reach then you would always think about cleaning since it is easily accessible.
Your Shower Head Holder head can harbor too much bacteria you cannot imagine it can hold. Once in a while, switch your hot water on and let it flow through the shower head. Leave it like that for 5 minutes. Another option is to soak the whole showerhead in water and vinegar. You can also use rubbing alcohol.
When cleaning the walls, use a mildew spray. If you do not want to use one, you can always go the homemade route and mix water, vinegar and ammonia mixed with baking soda. Use gloves and scrub, scrub, scrub till you remove all the dirt or most of it at least.
Where you place your toiletries matter, splash them with warm water at least once a week just to make sure that when you touch the bottles, they are clean.
If you use shower curtains, then it would be best to have a plastic lining to protect the cloth. This will decrease the fast spread out of mildew and also avoid damaging the linen. Wash the shower curtains twice a month or replace as soon as you see that it is futile to take out the dirt and stain.
Everyday, before you step out of the shower get a tissue and take out the hair from the drain, it would only take a few seconds for you to do that and throw in the trash. It beats having a clogged drain.
Sanitary Fittings Caps
For sanitary applications in the food, chemical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology industries, a sanitary fitting cap is utilized. These are usually made of stainless steel and are used as the name implies to cap off sanitary applications. Some of these cap fittings have been designed to help engineers who sometimes struggle to remove the caps off sanitary applications.
In addition to the stainless steel sanitary fitting caps, plastic sanitary caps are used in the biotechnology industry; these caps are used for capping off applications dealing with sensitive fluids. Plastic sanitary caps are cheaper than stainless and the materials are USP class VI rated and can be sterilized either by autoclaving or by gamma techniques. Many customers who have been using this product like these fittings, such as Pop-Up Waste, because of their large surface area, which makes it easier for gloved operators to grab when handling.
Sanitry Adapter Fittings
Sanitary adapters are fittings widely used in industrial companies processing food, dairy, pharmaceuticals and other sanitary processing industries to connect pipelines and components to industrial pipelines. Companies manufacture sanitary adapter fittings from a wide range of materials that include stainless steel, plastics and other approved materials.
Sanitary Clamp Fittings
The term sanitary clamp fitting refers to sanitary couplings and fittings joined together by a clamp. The sanitary fittings have a flat round face with an outer channel built to specific dimensions; the outer channel holds a sanitary gasket that provides a secure and sanitary seal where the two fittings are joined. Sanitary clamp fittings are usually made from stainless steel, but are also available in other materials such as plastic, nylon and in some instances are hygienically coated with gold.. Sanitary clamp fittings are used in different applications and come in different styles and sizes depending on how the clamp will be used.
Kitchen Mixer are not similar taps like basin mixer taps. Home owners often do get confused by buying a basin mixer tap for kitchen. Except for being somewhat taller, kitchen taps are comparable in style to those used in basins. Although kitchen taps uses same type of mechanism and are also installed using similar methods, there is a difference between wash basin taps and Kitchen taps.
1 Unplug the kitchen mixer before attempting to clean it. This will prevent the possibility of receiving an electric shock.
2 Fill a dish pan with hot water and 1 to 2 tablespoons of dish soap.
3 Press the button on the mixer that releases the beaters and place them in the dish pan. Remove the bowl as well as any attachments if the mixer is a stand Bathroom Sink Mixer and place them in the soapy dish water.
4 Scrub the items in the dish pan with a wash cloth and then rinse clean with warm water.
5 Dip the wash cloth back in the soapy water and wring it out. Wipe down the mixer with the wash cloth. Be sure to get under the mixing arm and around any buttons. Do not submerge the mixer in water or you could ruin it.
6 Dry the mixer and its parts by hand immediately after washing with a soft towel. This will prevent any chance of rust.
Various types of shower heads have been developed according to the needs and technological development. Getting a wrong type of Shower Head and tap fitted in your bathroom can cost you extra money and loads of water wastage. Many of the shower heads that have gone old waste a lot of energy. With depleting water resources it is imperative to think and make adequate choices to conserve the limited resource as much as possible. Energy efficient shower heads and tap can aid in contributing in the conservation effort.
1 Decide if you want a fixed shower head, adjustable or a Shower Head Holder. The fixed shower head remains in the same position on the shower wall. Adjustable shower heads allow you to reposition the device, but it remains anchored to the wall. With a handheld shower head, you position the device on specific areas of your body.
2 Consider water-saving features. Certain shower heads may offer a lower output of water — an energy-efficient and cost-saving benefit.
3 Look into shower systems. Shower systems provide a combination of handheld and shower heads. You choose how many and what kind of shower heads you want with a custom-made unit.
4 Choose the style of shower head based on the decor of your bathroom. Shower heads feature chrome and brushed finishes, and styles such as the round rain-shower to multi-spray shower heads. Match the shower heads as close as possible to the bathroom sink faucet.
